The relaunch of my blog is finally here!

Ok, so, I am just 10 days shy of it being an entire year since I last published a blog and let me start off by saying straight off the bat that no, I have NOT had another baby! If you have been keeping up with me since before the relaunch of my blog, I’m sure that you would know that the last two times I took an extended break from my work was because we had had another baby so I honestly don’t blame anyone for thinking that this was the case yet again, however, it is not! And while having a third child isn’t completely off the cards, it just isn’t the reason why I was away for almost a year.

The break happened because we have been through a lot of major changes in the last year and now that the craziness has subsided (or is it maybe that we have just gotten used to the craziness…either way) I am once again back to my seat in front of my laptop and doing one of the things which I love most-writing-with no foreseeable plans of pulling a disappearing act on you (again!) While I am here, I promise to do my level best to keep my blog regularly updated with new and exciting content!

My aim is to publish new posts and videos at least once a week, so fingers crossed that I will be able to pull this off while still being a stay-at-home/work-from-home mom of two little kids. New blogs will be posted every Wednesday so come back every week for inspiration and motivation from me to you!

"New blogs will be posted every Wednesday at 10am PST, so come back every week for inspiration and motivation from me to you!"

Now that I’m back I feel like I pretty much have to deal with the elephant in the room, right?

Why did I leave?
Where did I go?
What did I do while I was gone?
What brought me back?

So, with those questions in mind, let me break down for you what happened in the last year…

A lot of people in my life and even some of my readers have always encouraged me to increase the frequency with which I wrote posts and to even consider starting a Youtube channel so that I could share with more people my message of hope, encouragement and motivation.

A taste of what's to come!

This is just a small glimpse of what you will find right here on my website!
Looking forward to sharing this journey with you!

I have always been deeply thankful for the compliments and votes of confidence but I had never decided to act on the advice because of two reasons:
1 – I am a mom of two kids under the age of five so that basically means that I am very busy…ALL THE TIME! Kids are a great blessing, they bring you a lot of joy and are a ton of fun, but as anyone who has kids will tell you, children are also a lot of work! So, for me personally, blogging was not something that I thought I could truly devote a lot of time to even though I loved it and had regular readers.

2 – Truth be told, I just didn’t want to put myself out there. The thought of blogging more frequently and being on Youtube had honestly never crossed my mind because, on top of being a mother, I also co-host a podcast with my husband. And just in case you don’t know, creating and recording a podcast is a lot of work so I at the time, I didn’t want to add more work to my plate.

"I was being offered a chance to make a new beginning for myself and I knew deep within my heart that I would be a fool not to seize that opportunity!"

However, my views began to change over time and that in large part had to do with our immigrating to Canada.

My husband is Canadian and we had always agreed that we would one day move back to Canada. We weren’t sure when we would do this and if it would be a permanent thing but we were pretty sure that it was going to happen one day sure enough, that one day came! (To read more about that click here!)

Along with our impending move, I became almost obsessed with the idea of new seasons and new beginnings. I felt that with our immigration, I was entering a new season and a new chapter of my life. I was being offered a chance to make a new beginning for myself and I knew deep within my heart that I would be a fool not to seize that opportunity! There are times in life when we can long for the opportunity to make a fresh start, have a do-over almost, but that chance never comes yet here I was being offered a rare chance to do just that! I could choose to begin creating a new life for myself – a life that consisted of my husband and I pursuing our goals and dreams…or…I could choose to continue doing the same old-same old thing.

"The road to achieving our goals and dreams is seldom smooth but always worth it!"

Now, I will say that my life before our move was pretty darn good! As a family and as individuals, we were all happy and content but as we were getting ready to move, I just couldn’t shake the feeling that now was the time for me to take the leap in pursuing my goal and dreams of writing and blogging in earnest.

We were entering a new season of our lives and it felt only right that I should be willing to start that season doing a new thing as far as my work was concerned. So, in the middle of packing up our lives in South Africa, I decided to take the leap of faith!

I decided to get serious about my blogging and not just treat it as a side hustle and to that end, I decided to give my site a makeover – both in content and in look! Redesigning my site has been a journey of growth for me which proved to be painful and frustrating at times! There were so many times when I wanted to give up and walk away but my husband would be quick to remind me that giving up is never an option! The road to achieving our goals and dreams is seldom smooth but always worth it!
And I needed to be reminded of that at times.
So through all the trials and setbacks, I decided to keep pushing on! I chose to keep being the girl who just decided to trust God and go for it!

And now here we are!

I have made it through the whirlwind that was immigrating to Canada and I have survived the challenges of rethinking and redesigning my website!
Before you is what I have affectionately dubbed my “labour of love” and I sincerely hope and pray that you are so blessed, encouraged and empowered by all that you read, see and hear on this site!
It has been a wild ride but I am honestly so happy to once again be sitting in front of the computer! It feels so good to write and to feel and hear the keys moving at the touch of my fingers! During my time away, I have been itching to blog again so you can believe that I am back with a vengeance and there is so much that I have in store to share with you so honey, watch this space!

You’ve heard me mention a lot about this being a new chapter and a new season of life for us as a family and for me on a personal level, but you haven’t heard me tell you an awful lot about how we (me) filling the pages of this part of our story, so here’s a quick “life update” for you:
1-Since moving to Canada, my husband and I no longer work for the organization that we worked for in South Africa. I had already left it back when we had our daughter but now Kirk has also quit and together we are venturing into the world of freelancing!
It felt like now was the right time for us to make this move. With our coming to Canada, we figured that since we are basically making a fresh start in a new country, why not also make a fresh start as far as our careers are concerned? With the skills between the pair of us, we have no doubt that we could both land well-paying jobs working for other people, or we could work for ourselves and pursue doing the things that we really love to do.

Are we taking a risk?
Will it be hard work?
Count on it!
Are we ready for this?
We’re as ready as we’ll ever be, so…

Truth be told, we both felt like it was either now or never so, we took this leap of faith together! Kirk is now a freelance web designer with mad skills-as you can see displayed right here on my website! Yes, I am shamelessly plugging my husband’s work but come on, can you really blame me?! I think he did so good on my site and we are both very excited and happy to finally have him doing something that he enjoys.
Seeing him happy maks me happy!
So, if you want to check out more of his work then visit:

2-I am delving my blogging more intensely (obviously) but I am also making a comeback to the world of media by pursuing my career as a voice over artist. I love being behind a mic and hosting a show on the air! It thrills me beyond words and we are now in a space where I can keep growing in this area while still being able to be a stay-at-home/work-from-home-mom. My husband will be my agent as we work on this new venture together and we are excited at the possibilities that lie ahead. We know that it won’t be a walk in the park and that a lot of hard work will need to be invested into this but believe me when I tell you that we are ready!
So, to that end, you can check out my portfolio by clicking here or going directly to the voice over page on my site.

As far as blogging goes, I have SO many interesting and funny ideas, topics and series that I can’t wait to write for you guys! I have been bursting with ideas that have been swimming in my head for months now and finally the time has come when I can get them out of my head and onto your screen so trust me when I say: “Keep watching this space!”

3-Even though I didn’t blog for close to a year, one thing I did do along with my husband was start a podcast called The T.A.P. We really are so, so, so proud and happy about this project!

The T.A.P. is basically a radio show that Kirk and I host together (yes, he too is a radio guy!) and in it, we answer questions that people have Googled in their quest to find answers. This project excites us beyond words and if you want to listen to an episode (which by the way, I highly recommend that you do) then visit our website:
With our move to Canada, we had to temporarily stop producing more episodes of the show but now that we are settled again, you can expect brand new episodes to resume! You can also keep up with The T.A.P. on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram so…you know what to do!

4-Another project that I am giving my time to is pursuing my dream of becoming a photographer. I have loved photography for as long as I can remember and the desire to become a photographer has never gone away. Circumstances were always such that I was never able to pursue a career in it but since becoming a stay-at-home/work-from-home mom, I became able to slowly begin dabbling into it. My real leap into photography came when my father-in-law bought me a professional, entry-level camera. I’ve begun using it more and more and I am now discovering what I am capable of doing with it, what kind of photography I am into and getting to grips with my specific camera while finding my groove. Embarking on this journey has confirmed what I have always known-and that is that I LOVE photography! Towards the end of 2016, I took a really thorough, well prepared, well thought out and well executed course in photography with Shaw Academy where I earned my diploma in photography. Yes, I did this course smack-bang in the middle of packing and finished my course mid-October 2016 and even though that was a crazy thing to do, I’m glad I did it and I have every intention of continuing my studies with Shaw Academy as I seek to keep developing my photography skills and knowledge. Shaw Academy offers a number of courses in various fields and subjects like finance, marketing, beauty, music, technology, design, etc and I plan on completing all the courses that interest me throughout the year.

5-Last but not least, I have begun a Youtube channel!
I have always been curious about Youtube and have always thought that it could be a great platform for content producers like myself to use. I admit that I was hestitant to delve into it at first (for reasons mentioned above) but, seeing as we have made all these big changes, I figured why not make one last change and start Youtube-ing.
On my channel, you will find a whole mish-mash of a lot of topics but my sincere hope is that all of it will be a huge blessing and encouragement to you! So, check me out on Youtube by clicking here and don’t forget to subscribe, like and share my videos!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for visiting my site in general! I appreciate it more than you could ever know and I hope that on here you will find real life topics and thoughts that encourage you, challenge you, make you think and most importantly, bless you!
